About the Lady Chargers

STILL RISING: Having scored at least 20 points in her last five games, Jordan Smith continues to lead the Gulf South Conference with 23.7 points per game, and the Hoover, Ala., native now ranks fourth in the country in scoring. The senior has scored in double figures in each of the team's 11 games this season, and she established a career high with her 40-point performance against Troy on Nov. 26.

REAPING THE BENEFITS: Visitors to Spragins Hall will frequently see Dina and Josi Saunders in the gym putting up shots, and the work has paid off with both shooting the ball well – particularly at the free throw line. Josi is nearly perfect, going 16-for-17 at the charity stripe, while Dina is 29-of-33.

SHOOTING THE 3: With Jordan Smith leading the way from beyond the arc, the Lady Chargers are averaging 9.2 3-pointers per game while holding the opposition to just 5.3 per contest. Smith has drained 38 shots from downtown this season, while Shannon Steinert has made 25 3-point attempts fall.

CONFERENCE UPDATE: Delta State leads the league as the lone undefeated team in the GSC at 5-0, while Union, Lee and Valdosta State only have one loss at 3-1. A solid campaign thus far has Christian Brothers at 3-2, while both West Florida and North Alabama are sitting at 2-2. Joining UAH with a 2-3 mark in conference action is Shorter, while both West Alabama and West Georgia are winless at 0-5.
