WOMEN'S RESULTS
CLINTON, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville cross country teams ran Saturday morning at the 2014 Choctaw DII Challenge, with the men's squad finishing on top of the field while the women's team ended in third place overall.

Junior
Myles Scarano led the men's strong showing with a fourth-place finish at a time of 25:54.63 on Saturday. Junior
Kenny Richardson and sophomore
Daniel Rush were not far behind placing eighth and ninth with times of 26:26.11 and 26:32.26, respectively.

Other notable UAH runners included
Taylor Buzzard who finished 12th at 26:41.68, immediately followed by senior
Jose Ortega at 26:56.40 in 13th place.
Alex Gilliland and
Daniel Collins also placed in the top 20 on Saturday for the UAH men.

Two-time GSC Runner of the Week
Kailey Williams came away with the best time in the women's race in the Choctaw DII Challenge with a final time of 18:28.34. Fellow former GSC Runner of the Week honoree
Michelle Kruse finished shortly after in second place at a time of 18:30.72.

Junior
Chloe Whitworth followed the top two UAH finishers in 19th place with a time of 19:49.90. Allison Jay (27th, 20:19.50),
Kelsey Crawford (29th, 20:25.94) and
Heather Powell (30th, 20:28.71) also placed in the top 30 for the Chargers.

The Chargers look ahead to the Gulf South Conference Championships which are scheduled for Nov. 8 in Birmingham, Alabama. The race is scheduled to commence at 9 a.m.Â
