About the Chargers...
LAST WEEKEND: UAH hockey tied on Friday and lost on Saturday at Northern Michigan over the weekend. The 1-1 tie on Saturday was the first tie for UAH since matching Alaska Anchorage 1-1 at home last season and was also the first time UAH has not lost when visiting Marquette.
SUCCESS IN SECOND: Nine out of the Chargers' 10 goals have come in the second period this season. UAH is tied for third in the WCHA with nine second-period goals. Junior

Brandon Carlson are tied for the team lead with two goals apiece. Six other Chargers have registered one goal each.
STRENGTH IN GOAL: Carmine Guerriero had his most successful outing of the season in the Chargers tie against NMU, posting 34 saves and a .936 save percentage, his highest mark of the 2014-15 season. Guerriero has now recorded 30-plus saves in each of his four starts, totaling a 2.71 goal against average and .936 save percentage. He is currently fourth in the WCHA in save percentage.
SHORTHANDED: Sophomore
Matt Salhany notched the sixth goal of his collegiate career in the tie at NMU, which is also his first of the season. Salhany is tied with three Chargers for second on the roster with three points (1g-2a). He added four shots on goal and one block throughout the weekend. Salhany's goal came on a penalty kill, the first of the season for UAH.
DEFENSIVE CONSISTENCY: This season the Chargers have allowed 28 goals in eight games, good for a 3.46 goal against average. UAH has improved on that standing since last season, when the squad averaged 4.5 goals against after 36 goals through the first eight contests.
FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS: UAH second-year head coach
Mike Corbett spent 10 seasons at the Air Force Academy in Colorado as associate head coach prior to joining UAH for 2013-14.
UPCOMING: This is the final road series for the Chargers six-game road swing. UAH will come home next weekend to the VBC Propst Arena for the second home series of the season against WCHA opponent Lake Superior State.

USAFA PROFILE: Air Force enters with a 2-5-0 record in the 2014-15 campaign, following an overtime loss on the road at North Dakota last weekend by a final score of 3-2. The Falcons travelled to Fairbanks, Alaska in their second series of the year and lost to WCHA opponents Alaska and Alaska-Anchorage.
KEY CONTRIBUTORS: Three players – Chad Demers, Scott Holm, and A. J. Reid – are tied for the team lead with three goals apiece so far in 2014-15. The Falcons have accumulated 18 goals and 34 assists for 52 points this season, led by Cole Gunner with eight (2g-6a). Chris Truehl has played in all seven games averaging 3.26 goals per contest with a .885 save percentage.
MATCHUP HISTORY: The Chargers own a 35-18-3 overall record against the Falcons and a 16-12-1 mark when visiting Air Force. The last matchup occurred on Dec. 30, 2012 and resulted in a 6-1 loss for UAH.
