Live Video: gscsports.orgFAMILIAR SITUATION: After Tuesday's thrilling overtime victory over Delta State in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Gulf South Conference Championships, the Chargers will play in the semifinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Florida, against West Alabama in a rematch of last year's semifinal contest. This year the seeds are reversed with West Alabama holding the No. 2 seed and UAH entering as the third seed.

EARLIER THIS YEAR AT BROSNAHAM: Friday's match will not be the first this season for the Chargers at the GSC tournament site as the Blue and White defeated Florida Southern 1-0 and then-No. 3 Rollins 3-2 in overtime back on Sept. 12 and 14.

TOURNAMENT HSITORY: UAH's win over Delta State was the first in the postseason for the program since the 2009 season when the Chargers defeated Christian Brothers in the semifinals before falling to West Florida in the championship contest. UAH is 5-7-2 overall in the conference tournament, capturing titles in 1996 and 1997.

FRENCH CONNECTION: All-GSC performers
Leo De Smedt – a native of France – and
Florent Girardin – a French-speaking native of Switzerland – worked together to score the game-winning goal in overtime against DSU Tuesday night. Both have been two of UAH's top players in the midfield, and the two own a combined five goals and five assists.

ABOUT WEST ALABAMA: With UWA's 3-2 victory over the Chargers last Friday night in Livingston, the Tigers captured the second seed in the tournament and thus earned a bye to this Friday's contest. UWA is led by two-time GSC Player of the Year Thibault Charmey who paced the GSC with 12 goals during the regular season, including a score in the finale against UAH.

SERIES HISTORY: West Alabama has won all six meetings between the two programs, including the semifinal win last season and the victory a week ago.

LAST WEEK IN LIVINGSTON: The Chargers quickly found themselves trailing as UWA scored in the first minute of the game en route to a 3-2 victory. UAH outshot the Tigers in the contest by a 10-9 margin and held a 6-3 edge in corners.

LAST YEAR AT THE TOURNAMENT: The Tigers scored just before the half and padded the lead just over 10 minutes into the second half on their way to advancing to the championship game. UWA owned a 13-8 advantage in shots in the match, limiting the Chargers to just two shots on goal. For his work in the game,
