BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – On Thursday, the Gulf South Conference announced its 2026 Men's Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll and All-Conference team, naming both Oli Orzechowski and Sonny Wright to the preseason All-Conference team while the team ranked fourth in the coaches poll.

A member of last season's Second Team All-GSC, senior Orzechowski was named to the GSC Preseason All-Conference Team after starting 17 of 18 matches as a key offensive presence for the Chargers. The Oxford, England, native led the Chargers with 10 goals and 21 points while also leading the GSC with three game-winning goals.

Starting all 17 matches for the Chargers, senior Wright provided a strong presence in goal throughout the 2025 season. The Suffolk, England, native ranked second in the GSC in both goals-against average and saves, posting a 0.83 goals-against average and an .806 save percentage while recording six shutouts and nine wins.

UAH earned the No. 4 spot on the GSC Preseason Coaches poll. The Chargers finished the 2025 season 9-4-4 and earned the No. 5 seed in the GSC Men's Soccer Championships after finishing regular season conference play with a 5-3-3 record. The Chargers wrapped up the season with their first GSC Championships semifinal appearance since 2019 that ended in a 2-1 loss to No. 1 seed Mississippi Christian.

Additionally, a trio of freshman Marc Lorenz, Luis McCabe and Ollie Rigby were named to the GSC Men's Soccer Newcomers to Watch List.
