Live AudioGSC PLAY CONTINUES: The Chargers will host West Alabama on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. before hitting the road for the first time in conference action when the squad travels to West Georgia for a 1 p.m. CST contest on Sunday. UAH enters the week at 3-5 (0-2 Gulf South Conference).

PROTECTING THE BASKETBALL: UAH limited itself to a season-low 16 turnovers in the five-point loss to Valdosta State, improving in a key area. In addition to only giving it away the 16 times, the Chargers also registered 14 assists on the team's 18 made field goals.

AND TAKING IT AWAY: The Chargers forced West Florida to commit 15 turnovers last week, recording 10 steals in the contest, and the team then made Valdosta State turn the ball over 17 times in the Saturday contest.
Shannon Steinert – who led the GSC in steals a season ago – is pacing the team with 13 takeaways so far.

SUCCESS FROM 3: With an 8-for-17 showing, the Chargers featured their second-best 3-point shooting day of the season on Saturday when they shot 47.1 percent against Valdosta State.

Loren Foster all recorded a pair of triples in the contest.

ABOUT WEST ALABAMA: The Tigers visit Spragins Hall with a 4-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play after defeating Mississippi College and falling to Delta State – who is now under the direction of former UWA head coach Craig Roden. Britney McCloud is leading the Tigers, scoring 17.8 points per night.

SERIES HISTORY: UWA holds a 35-20 advantage in the all-time series, but UAH has won five straight against the Tigers including a win in the championship game of the 2013 Gulf South Conference tournament.

ABOUT WEST GEORGIA: The Wolves are off to a strong start, holding a 7-1 overall mark to go along with a 2-0 record in conference play after beating Delta State and Mississippi College on the road last week. The Wolves feature three players who score in double figures including reigning GSC Player of the Week Taylor Beverly who is averaging 16.4 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 20-27 all-time against West Georgia, including a 2-1 mark against the Wolves last year as UAH won both regular season meetings before UWG took down the Chargers in the opening round of the conference tournament.
