Saturday was a record setting night for Carmine Guerriero as the freshman goalie set the new record for most saves in a game with 61 in the modern Division I era, while also setting a record for most shots faced at 65.

SAVING ROSIE
Matt Larose amassed 42 saves on Friday, which was the fourth time this season the freshman has reached 40 or more saves and the third time this season Larose and Guerriero both reached 40 or more saves on the same weekend.

SALHANY SCORING

About Lake Superior State  (courtesy of LSSU Sports Information)

This coming weekend will be key for the Lakers as they continue to attempt a jump in the WCHA standings. Following a weekend split at Northern Michigan, the Lakers have fallen right back to the ninth spot in the standings. With only the top eight teams making the playoffs, every game is valuable to the Lakers as the trail the Wildcats by a single point and Bemidji State by two points. The next three teams ahead of the Beavers are all tied in fourth place with four points up on the Lakers. With three WCHA series left for the Lakers, every point is critical
