About the Lady Chargers

  • This weekend's contests mark the final two on the home floor for the terrific senior trio of Jasmine Hammon, Jordan Smith and Kendra Jones. The pair of Hammon and Smith rank No. 1 and 2 in five individual career categories all-time at UAH (games played, points, field goal attempts, free throw attempts, and free throws made, while Hammon is on the top of three additional (field goals made, rebounds, and steals).
  • The team has also experienced new heights as the Lady Chargers won the GSC Tournament championship for the first-time ever a season ago, and UAH has also reached two straight NCAA tournaments.
  • Smith will be looking to join Hammon in the 2,000-point club as she enters the week needing just 37 points to do so. Should she accomplish the feat, UAH would join Delta State as the only two Gulf South Conference programs to have two 2,000-point scorers, and the 2013-14 Lady Chargers would become the only GSC team to feature two on the same team.
  • UAH will look end the season on a high note as the Lady Chargers play their final two games of the season on Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Lady Chargers have won five of their previous six contests and also own a mark of 10-2 at home.
  • One reason for the Lady Chargers' success in February can be attributed to the exceptional play by Jones of late. The forward is averaging 10.8 points per game in the month of February while scoring in double figures in the past three contests.
