About the Lady Chargers

GAME NOTES
•UAH returns to Spragins Hall after its four-game road swing, ready to play five of its final eight games in the Rocket City -- including three straight beginning with the West Florida contest.
•The contest at UWF marked one of five times this season that UAH's duo of Smith and Hammon have been the only Lady Chargers to score in double figures.
•The duo of Smith and Hammon continue to pace the league in scoring with 22.9 and 19.7 points per game, respectively. Breanna Ridgell of Christian Brothers is in third with 16.5 points per contest.
•The two also rank high nationally with Smith fifth in the country and Hammon ranked 31st.
•Hammon is now rapidly closing in on the 2,000-point plateau as she enters Thursday night's contest with 1,940 career points. The Muscle Shoals, Ala., native is attempting to become the first UAH player to reach the mark and just the seventh in GSC history.
•The Lady Chargers have played several close contests this year with four of the team's eight setbacks coming in games that were decided by 10 points or less.
•UAH has also been on the right side of blowout games, winning seven contests with a final margin of more than 20 points while only falling in one of them.
•UAH leads the league with 15.9 steals per game, and three different Lady Chargers are in the top 10 in the league in takeaways: Shannon Steinert (1st, 3.3), Hammon (4th, 2.8), and Juanice Newton (7th, 2.4).
•Steinert ranks sixth in the country with 3.3 steals per game, recording at least five steals in seven games including a season-high nine against Trevecca Nazarene on Nov. 20.
•With 60 takeaways, Steinert is now chasing the single-season program record for steals which was set by Annette Fletcher in the 1986-87 season when she recorded 84.

About the Opponents

WEST FLORIDA
•The Argos are winners of six of their last eight games, moving to second in the GSC among teams that are eligible for the postseason. With an overall road mark of 4-3, Thursday's visitors are 3-3 in GSC play on the road.
•Two Argos score in double figures with Tessah Holt leading the way with 12.8 per game while Jasmine Wigfall averages 10.1 per contest.
•UWF owns a scoring margin of 9.4 as the team is scoring 68.9 per game while holding the opposition to a scoring average of 59.5 points and a field goal percentage 38.2.

VALDOSTA STATE
•The Blazers just completed a three-game homestand in which VSU fell in each of the games to drop to 4-7 in conference play. Two of the losses were to the top two teams in the league -- Delta State and Lee.
•April Thomas is Valdosta State's top scorer as she averages 15.1 points per game, but seven other players are averaging at least five points per contest.

Series History

WEST FLORIDA
•Thursday's meeting will be the 49th all-time between the two programs as West Florida holds a 26-22 edge in the series. UWF captured the earlier meeting this year with a 100-78 decision in Pensacola.
•In the meeting at West Florida, Jordan Smith scored 30 while Jasmine Hammon poured in 20 to lead the Lady Chargers.

VALDOSTA STATE
•Saturday's hosts own a 31-12 edge in the all-time series after winning 89-81 in an exciting game in Valdosta earlier this season.
•UAH held a 39-23 lead at the half in the road contest, and though four Lady Chargers scored in double figures -- led by Jordan Smith's 24 -- Valdosta State was able to make a dramatic comeback
