UAH Falls 4-1 at Michigan Tech, Allan Scores 4th Goal

Box Score HOUGHTON, Mich. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 4-1 on Friday night to Michigan Tech, falling behind 3-0 early before scoring its lone goal at MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
 
UAH (1-27-1, 1-17-1 WCHA) allowed a goal in the first period and two more in the second to the Huskies (11-14-6, 9-8-4 WCHA) before dropping the three-goal defeat on Michigan Tech's Winter Carnival.
 
Senior Alex Allan notched his fourth goal of the season, which now ties him for the team lead. Allan worked a nice stick in the crease and beat the Tech goalie stickside to cut the deficit to three goals.
 
Jack Prince picked up his second assist of the season and Doug Reid added his fourth on the Allan goal.
 
Both Blake Pietila and Tanner Kero scored two goals for the Huskies. Kero scored both of his in the second period, while Pietila tallied one in the first and one in the third.
 
Michigan Tech outshot the Chargers 51-21 with UAH going 0-for-2 on the power play and Tech finished 1-for-5. The Huskies held a 42-30 advantage in faceoffs.
 
Carmine Guerriero is credited with the loss after allowing three goals in the game. Matt Larose came in late after Guerriero went down with an apparent injury and allowed the fourth goal.
 
The two teams will play an early matinee game of 4:07 central time tomorrow.
