UAH Set for Conference Series with Alaska Anchorage

WEEKEND PROMOS: Friday's contest will feature the fourth trading card set giveaway of the 2014-15 home season, which is followed by Charger t-shirts to the first 500 fans in attendance to Saturday's matchup.

KIDS IN FREE: Children ages 12 and under receive free admission to all UAH hockey games for the 2014-15 season, courtesy of Huntsville International Airport. Fans can purchase hockey tickets by visiting the VBC Box Office or by calling (256) UAH-PUCK to purchase group tickets. RECENT ACTION: The Chargers wrapped up their final road non-conference series of the season with a tie and a loss at Nebraska Omaha on Dec. 20-21 prior to the Holiday break. UAH opened the series with a 2-1 loss, which was followed up with a 3-3 draw in the finale. The Chargers are now 1-4-3 in non-conference matchups and 3-14-3 overall.

YOUTH RISING: UAH points leader Max McHugh (Seattle, Wash.) continued his successful rookie campaign with a goal and two assists in the series split at Nebraska Omaha. McHugh aided the lone goal in the opener, while totaling an assist and a goal in the 3-3 series finale tie. He has totaled one point in each of the last six series. Amongst freshmen, McHugh is tied for 12th in the country and is tied for first in the WCHA with 12 points (5g-7a) on the season.

THREE'S COMPANY: Jack Prince (Leicester, England) marked three points in the nonconference weekend series at Nebraska Omaha, dishing out one assist in the opener and totaling one goal and an assist in the 3-3 series finale tie. Prince's goal was the Chargers first of the evening and his assist later was to Max McHugh in a crucial goal in a tightly contested matchup. This is the second time this season Prince has notched three points in a weekend series. Along with McHugh, Prince is in double-digit points with 10 tallies (3g-7a) this season.

CONSISTENT CARLSON: Sophomore Brandon Carlson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) is back on top of the NCAA blocks leaderboard with 50 on the 2014-15 season. Carlson had a total of seven this past weekend, including five alone in the 3-3 tie. The defenseman has also posted six points (3g-3a) while playing in all 20 of the Chargers games so far.

DISHING IT OUT: Chad Brears (Cold Lake, Alberta) posted two points in a game for the third time this season with a pair of assists in the finale at UNO. Brears has nine points (2g-7a) in 18 games played this season, good for third on the UAH roster.

IN GOAL: Sophomore Carmine Guerriero (Montreal, Quebec) headlines the Chargers goaltending core with a 2.44 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. Guerriero's save percentage ranks 11th in the country and fourth in the conference heading into the New Year.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH welcomes Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 2-3 to the Von Braun Center for the first series in the New Year. The Chargers hold a 2-18-1 all-time series record against the Seawolves, with the last matchup ending a 4-1 loss for UAH. The Blue and White also tied UAA when the Seawolves came to Huntsville in the 2013-14 campaign.

SEAWOLVES PROFILE: Alaska Anchorage enters the series with an overall record of 5-7-4 and 2-6-2 in WCHA play, good for eighth in the league standings. Blake Tatchell leads the Seawolves with 12 points (3g-9a), while Brett Cameron has a team-high five goals. Olivier Mantha has logged the most time in goal for UAA, collecting a .928 save percentage and a 2.44 goals against average
