BOX SCORENASHVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville traveled to Vanderbilt and fell 74-51 to the SEC member. Vanderbilt improved to 10-7 with the victory, while the game does not count to UAH's record as it was an exhibition for the Chargers.

UAH will now return to Gulf South Conference play, hosting rival North Alabama on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.

The Chargers were led by the Saunders twins in the contest as
Josi Saunders hit three 3-pointers to score 16, while
Dina Saunders added 15 points and a team-best three steals.
Loren Foster was also strong for the Chargers, going a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc to score nine.

In the opening half, the Chargers jumped out to a 9-4 lead by the 15:56 mark of the period, but Vanderbilt responded by outscoring UAH 37-16 in the remainder of the half to hold a 41-25 lead at the halftime break.

The Commodores shot a strong 68.2 percent in the first 20 minutes, while the Chargers connected on 33.3 percent of their attempts. UAH did find some success from beyond the arc in the half, however, hitting five 3s with both
Josi Saunders and Foster hitting a pair of shots from long range.

UAH shot the ball better in the second 20 minutes, going 9-for-16 from the field to ultimately shoot 42.5 percent for the game, and Vandy shot 52.4 percent in the second stanza, outscoring the Chargers just 33-26 on its way to the victory.

For the contest, Vanderbilt shot 60.5 percent from the field, and the Commodores held a 28-14 edge on the glass.

The Chargers were a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line, and the team collected 12 assists on the team's 17 made field goals.
