The Chargers took a 1-0 lead in the first period at the 7:00 mark as
Brennan Saulnier buried a rebound off
Frank Misuraca's chance. Saulnier now has two goals this season, while Misuraca notched his fifth assist in the 2014-15 campaign.

The remainder of the period went scoreless between UAH and the U-18s thanks to the goaltending of
Carmine Guerriero, who stopped six shots in his lone period between the pipes.

Sophomore
Matt Larose took over in goal for the second period, allowing the equalizing goal to Troy Terry at 11:50 in the second period. Larose saved a game-high 16 shots in the second period to keep the Chargers within striking distance.

Defense reigned supreme in the third as both teams would skate to a 1-1 tie through 60 minutes of regulation time. However, USA's Matthew Tkachuk gave the U-18s a 2-1 victory 4:20 into the overtime period with an unassisted marker.

Despite the loss, Larose made 31 saves in his time on the ice. He aided the Chargers defense in keeping the U-18s scoreless in three power-play opportunities in the second period. Overall, USA was held to zero goals in five power plays on Saturday afternoon.

UAH and the U-18s will wrap up the two-game series on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the VBC. The first 1000 fans in attendance will receive a UAH team photograph, with a postgame autograph session scheduled following the game.
