CONFERENCE PLAY BEGINS: UAH started the WCHA slate with a tie and a loss against Alaska Anchorage in a two-game series in Huntsville this past weekend to give the Chargers a 1-2-1 record on the 2015-16 season. The two teams skated to a 3-3 tie in the opener, followed by a 3-2 win for the Seawolves in the finale.

LEADING MAN: Sophomore
Brennan Saulnier continues to lead the Chargers after a goal and an assist this past weekend, which brings his season total to seven points from a team-high four goals and three assists. Saulnier leads the WCHA and is 10th in the nation with 1.75 points per game, while being tied for the conference lead in overall points.

OFFENSE CONSISTENT: UAH ranks 24th in the country and third in the WCHA with 7.75 points per game through four games this season, with Saulnier (4-3—7) pacing the squad. Fellow sophomore
Max McHugh (3-3—6) and senior
Chad Brears (1-4—5) round out the top three scorers on the roster. All three forwards rank in the top five of the conference in points per game.

CENTURY MARK: Alternate captain Brears participated in his 100th game on Saturday night, with the senior picking up his team-leading fourth assist of the season and 21st of his career during the matchup. Brears has played in more career games than any current Charger.

OUT OF THE BOX: UAH has averaged 8.50 penalty minutes per game through four contests this season, which ranks tied for 44th lowest in the nation and seventh lowest amongst WCHA programs. In 2014-15, the Chargers averaged 15.84 penalty minutes per game which was third highest in the county.

ON THE ROAD: The Chargers will be on the road for the first time this season as the squad takes a trip to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan for a WCHA series against Lake Superior State on Friday and Saturday night. UAH is 4-6-2 all-time against LSSU, having gone unbeaten against the Lakers in the last three matchups.

LAKERS PROFILE: Lake Superior State owns a 2-4-0 record so far this season, and will begin the conference schedule in the upcoming series against UAH. Most recently, LSSU had a series split at Michigan State on Oct. 22-23, taking the opener 4-2 and dropping the finale 2-0. Gage Torrel leads the offense with five points from two goals and three assists, while Gordon Defiel and Nick Kossoff have combined for a 3.00 goals against average and a .900 save percentage in net this season.

LOOKING AHEAD: UAH returns home following the trip to LSSU for a WCHA series against Michigan Tech on Nov. 6-7 at the Von Braun Center. Puck drops at 7:07 p.m. both nights.
