Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ohio | The University of Alabama in Huntsville fell in the WCHA series finale at No. 15 Bowling Green by a score of 4-3 on Saturday night at the BGSU Ice Arena. The Chargers dips to 3-6-1 (2-5-1 WCHA), while the Falcons improve to 7-3-3 (4-2-2 WCHA).

Following an overtime loss in the opener on Friday, UAH and Bowling Green opened Saturday's contest with a scoreless tie through the first period of play, despite the Chargers posting 12 shots on goal compared to BGSU's eight.

The scoreless tie would continue just past the midway point of the second, as the Falcons Matt Pohlkamp netted the first goal of the contest at 10:04 of the middle period.

The Chargers then quickly rebounded to tie the game at 11:32 in the second period as
Brandon Carlson tipped in his second goal of the season on a shot from the point by
Max McHugh. Freshman
Jetlan Houcher was credited with an assist along with McHugh.

The 1-1 tie held into the second intermission until Pohlkamp scored his second of the game and fifth of the season at 3:26 of the third to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead, which was added to by Brent Tate at 8:41 to make it a two-goal game.

Sophomore
Brandon Parker cut the BGSU lead to 3-2 with a goal at 18:36 of the third – his second of the season – before an empty-net score by Pierre-Luc Mercier at 19:34 allowed the Falcons to regain the two-goal advantage.

Undeterred, the Chargers added another goal with 11 seconds remaining in the third by captain
Brent Fletcher – his first of the year – with assists from
Cody Marooney and Parker to bring the game to its 4-3 final

Junior
Carmine Guerriero started in net for the Blue and White on Saturday night, seeing his record drop to 2-4-1 in 2015-16. Guerriero recorded 24 saves on the night.

The Chargers managed 31 shots on goal during the loss, with Houcher leading the offense with five shots on target.

UAH returns home to the Von Braun Center next week with a visit from rival Bemidji State for contests on Wednesday and Friday night. Puck drops at 7:07 p.m. for both games.
