WEEKEND SWEEP: UAH went on the road for the first time in 2015-16 to Lake Superior State this past weekend, coming away with a WCHA series sweep with a 5-4 overtime win on Friday and a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. The Chargers are tied for third in the WCHA with five points, compiling a 3-2-1 overall record and 2-1-1 mark in league play.
STELLAR START: Freshman Kurt Gosselin had a strong beginning to his collegiate career with a four-point weekend from two goals and two assists in the sweep of LSSU. Gosselin registered a pair of goals in his first career appearance, followed by assists on two scores in the series finale. He is one of two players in the WCHA and one of three freshmen in the nation to have four points over the weekend.
SHUTOUT: Junior Matt Larose helped the Chargers to the first shutout since Cam Talbot blanked Robert Morris on March 12, 2010, totaling a game-high 31 saves in the process. Larose held LSSU scoreless in four power plays, while making a game-high 14 saves in the Chargers three-goal second period. He is one of 11 NCAA goalies to record a shutout this weekend.

LEAGUE'S BEST: Junior Cody Marooney was the only player in NCAA Division I with both game-winning goals from this past weekend, highlighted by an overtime marker in the series opener to give the Chargers a 5-4 win over the Lakers. Marooney registered a total of three points this weekend from two goals and one assist, which gives the forward four points (3g-1a) this season.
SUCCESS ON OFFENSE: The Chargers are 15th in the NCAA with 3.67 goals per game and 18th in the nation with 9.33 points per game through six contests this season, led by sophomore Brennan Saulnier - the WCHA Player of the Month for October - who paces the nation with 1.20 goals per game and is 11th with 1.80 points per game. Following Saulnier in the top three on the roster are Max McHugh (3-5—8) and Chad Brears (2-5—7), who are tied with a team-high five assists.
FROM FACEOFFS: UAH remains amongst the league leaders in faceoff win percentage with a .553 success rate this season, good for 10th in Division I. The Chargers are led by captain Brent Fletcher (.675) as 15th in the nation, followed by Max McHugh (.603) with a standing of 48th in the NCAA.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers welcome Michigan Tech for a two-game, WCHA series this weekend at the Von Braun Center, which will be the Chargers third homestand of the season. UAH holds a 0-8-0 all-time series record against MTU, with the last matchups occurring in the WCHA playoffs last season where the Huskies advanced to the Final Five on consecutive wins on March 13-14.
