Live VideoBACK HOME FOR TWO: Four of UAH's last seven regular season games are at home, starting with a pair this week as Lee and Shorter visit the Chargers who bring a 10-11 (7-8 Gulf South Conference) record into the week. Lee will come to Huntsville on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. contest, while Saturday's contest with Shorter is slated for 2 p.m.

STANDINGS UPDATE: UAH currently sits in a three-way tie for fifth in the GSC standings, even with North Alabama and West Alabama at 7-8 and just one game behind West Georgia who is 8-7 in fourth among teams eligible for the postseason. Behind the three teams at fifth is Valdosta State who is eighth at 6-9, while Shorter is presently on the outside looking in ninth with a 5-10 record. The top eight teams reach the GSC tournament with the top four seeds hosting quarterfinal match-ups.

SURGING SAUNDERS: Junior
Dina Saunders started the new calendar year with a 7.3 points per game scoring average, but she enters play this weekend second on the team with 9.6 points per contest after scoring a career-best 24 at West Alabama to give her double figures in seven of the team's nine contests in 2015.

ALL-AROUND PERFORMER: In addition to leading the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game, junior
Halle Jarnagin is also pacing the squad with 2.5 assists and 5.3 rebounds per outing. The Brentwood, Tennessee, native has led UAH in scoring in seven contests and in both rebounding and assists in eight games.

ABOUT LEE: The Flames have won four of their last six but dropped last Saturday's home contest against Valdosta State 64-63 to travel to the Rocket City at 12-6 (9-6 GSC), and the team owns a 3-4 mark in road play. Three Lee players are averaging double figures with Emileigh Swafford's leading the way.

LAST TIME AGAINS THE FLAMES: When the two teams met on Dec. 20 in Cleveland, Tennessee, the Chargers dominated the first half, owning a 42-25 advantage at the break before hanging on for a 70-64 victory.
Shannon Steinert paced UAH with 16 points in the winning effort, while Swafford scored 17.

ABOUT SHORTER: The Hawks are just 2-7 on the road, and after dropping five of seven, the team will head to North Alabama on Thursday with a 9-12 (5-10 GSC) mark. Pacing the squad is Ieshia Alexander who has scored 15.3 points per contest.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE HAWKS: Shorter was an impressive 13-for-22 from beyond the arc with Tamarr Williams hitting five 3-pointers en route to scoring a team-best 15 in a 78-56 victory over UAH on Dec. 18. Jarnagin scored 19 on the strength of a 9-for-11 showing at the charity stripe to pace the Chargers in the setback.
