RECENT ACTION: UAH lost both games to No. 13 Bowling Green in the final regular season series of 2014-15 for the Blue and White, falling by scores of 7-2 and 2-1. Despite the losses, UAH clinched the No. 7 seed in the WCHA Playoffs and will be pitted against No. 2 seed Michigan Tech in a three-game series this upcoming weekend.

PLAYOFFS: The Chargers will be in the WCHA playoffs for the first time in program history since joining the league for the 2013-14 campaign. UAH finished the regular season with an 8-24-4 overall record and 7-20-1 within the conference, improving upon last season's marks of 2-35-1 overall and 2-25-1 in the league.

ROOKIE PACING OFFENSE: UAH points leader
Max McHugh (Seattle, Wash.) scored the lone UAH goals in Friday night's 7-2 loss, notching two power-play markers in the third period. This season McHugh has a team-high 23 points (12g-11a) to go along with the team lead in goals scored. He ranks 19th amongst NCAA freshman for points scored and third among WCHA first-year players. Overall, McHugh ranks 17th within the WCHA in total points.

HELPING HAND: Freshman
Brandon Parker (Faribault, Minn.) is third among WCHA first-year defensemen with a team-high 14 assists this season, after chipping in an assist in each game at BGSU last weekend. Parker leads the defense with 14 points (0g-14a), while adding 51 blocks on the defensive end. Parker's assist total is the most in a season since Andrew Coburn's 15 in the 2009-10 campaign.

JUNIOR GROWING: Junior
Chad Brears (Cold Lake, Alberta) assisted in both of McHugh's goals in Friday night's game, giving the forward 12 assists this season. Brears is currently second on the team in assists and in total points with 15 (3g-12a). He has 27 points (10g-17a) in his three-year career at UAH.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: UAH goalie
Carmine Guerriero (Montreal, Quebec) played just 24:19 in the opener against Bowling Green, allowing four goals and saving 19 before being relieved by fellow sophomore
Matt Larose in the second period. This season Guerriero has logged the most time in goal (1559:23), while accumulating a 2.69 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. The UAH netminder's save percentage ranks 24th in the nation and fifth within the WCHA.

BLOCKED OUT: Sophomore
Brandon Carlson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) finished the regular season with 83 blocks, good for third overall in the nation. Carlson notched the lone UAH goal in Saturday's finale, giving him 10 points (5g-5a) on the season. The sophomore anchors a defensive unit that ranks fifth in the NCAA with 531 blocks, thanks to assistance from
Frank Misuraca (61), Parker (52),
Graeme Strukoff (51) and
Cody Champagne (38).

OFFENSE UP IN 2014-15: The Charger offense finished the regular season with 167 collective points on offense from 62 goals and 105 points, which is much improved from the 2013-14 campaign when the squad finished with 113 points from 41 goals and 72 assists. A total of seven players have 10 points or more, led by McHugh with 23. UAH has the most double-digit point totals since the 2010-11 season when there were also seven players with 10-plus points.

BRIGHT FUTURE: The UAH first-year players have been a bright spot for the Chargers this season, as the freshman class leads all classes on the roster with 61 points (22g-39a). McHugh (12-11--23) and Parker (0-14--14) are the lone freshmen in double-digits, followed by
Brennan Saulnier (1-8--9),
Josh Kestner (4-2--6),
Richard Buri (3-2--5) and
Cody Champagne (2-2--4). The Chargers' freshman class ranked tied for 20th in the NCAA for first-year classes.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH has an all-time series record of 0-6-0 against MTU and 0-4-0 when visiting Houghton, Michigan. Michigan Tech has won all four matchups this season, with two played at the VBC and two played at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena.

RECENT ACTION: Michigan Tech finished off the regular season with a pair of wins against Northern Michigan in a home-and-home series, in which the Huskies topped the Wildcats by scores of 5-1 and 3-1. MTU is 6-1-1 over its last eight contests.

HUSKIES PROFILE: The Huskies potent offense has produced a league-best 353 offensive points this season from 131 goals and 222 assists, led by the top two scorers in the WCHA in Tanner Kero (18-25--43) and Alex Petan (14-25--39). Jamie Phillips has started all 36 games in goal for the Huskies this season, accumulating a 1.76 goals against average and a .935 save percentage.
