PROMOS: UAH will be giving away scheduie magnets for fans in attendance to Friday night's contest, while the featured promotion on Saturday night will be first trading card set for the 2016-17 campaign.

KIDS IN FREE: Children ages 12 and under receive free admission to all UAH hockey home games for the 2015-16 season, courtesy of Huntsville International Airport. Fans can purchase hockey tickets by visiting the VBC Box Office or by calling (256) UAH-PUCK to purchase group tickets. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster.com.

RECENT ACTION: The Chargers continued their season-opening road swing in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play at Michigan Tech this past weekend, with the Huskies taking the opener 7-3 before the squads skated to a 1-1 tie in the series finale. UAH now sits at 2-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in WCHA contests.
 
HOME SWEET HUNTSVILLE: UAH opens the 2016-17 home slate this weekend with a visit from WCHA member Lake Superior State, with puck drop slated for 7:07 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday night at the Von Braun Center. The Chargers are 4-1-1 in the past two seasons against the Lakers, while holding a 6-6-2 all-time record against LSSU.
 
FRESHMAN IMPRESSING: Jordan Larson had the strongest performance of his young collegiate career in the opener on Friday night, as the freshman notched his first career goal and one assist for two points in the loss. So far in 2016-17, Larson has appeared in each of the Chargers six games with three points on one goal and two assists.
 
FINDING THE NET: Max McHugh registered his team-leading third goal of the season – which is also tied for tops in the WCHA – in the series opener at MTU, which puts him atop the roster with four points from three goals and one assist. McHugh has now potted a total of 22 goals in his career while notching 49 points from an additional 27 career assists.
 
PACING THE DEFENSE: Sophomore Kurt Gosselin picked up his first goal of the season in the tie on Saturday in Houghton, Michigan, scoring the critical goal in the third period of the contest. Gosselin now leads all UAH defenseman with three points from one goal and two assists.
 
BETWEEN THE PIPES: For the first time in his collegiate career, Jordan Uhelski logged the most time in goal for the Chargers during a weekend series, while making his first career start in the finale on Saturday. Uhelski totaled 44 saves and allowed three goals during the two-game set, improving his save percentage to .929 and lowering his goals against average to 2.03.
 
ON THE BLOCK: A total of three UAH defensemen remain in the top five nationally in blocked shots, with sophomore Cam Knight leading the way with 19 blocks as the NCAA leader. Brandon Carlson follows in second nationally with 18 blocks, while Brandon Parker is tied for third with 14 blocks.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: Following the home-opening weekend, UAH will be back on the road with a nonconference series at St. Cloud State on Oct. 28-29 before trekking to Alaska Anchorage the following weekend on Nov. 4-5 for the first of two trips to the Last Frontier for the Chargers.
 
LAKERS PROFILE: Lake Superior State opened the 2016-17 season at home this past weekend against Michigan State, winning both gam by scores of 6-1 and 7-3 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. LSSU's offense is paced Owen Headrick, while Gordon Defiel played the full two games against MSU with four goals allowed and 49 saves.
