RECENT ACTION: The UAH hockey team opened its 2016-17 home slate against Lake Superior State this past weekend in Huntsville at the Von Braun Center, with the Lakers earning the series sweep by scores of 6-3 and 5-2. The Chargers are now 2-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 within the WCHA.
 
PACING THE LEAGUE: After a two-goal performance in the series finale this past weekend, Max McHugh now leads the WCHA with five goals scored to go along with one assist for a team-high six points offensively. A Seattle native, McHugh eclipsed the career 50-point mark during the weekend series, as the junior now owns 51 points from 24 goals and 27 assists in his career.
 
ROOKIE SPOTLIGHT: Jordan Larson has continued to impress early into his collegiate career, following two points on one goal and one assists in the weekend series against LSSU. Larson now ranks tied for second on the roster with five points (2g-3a), which is good for a tie for fourth amongst WCHA rookies.
 
HOMEGROWN PRODUCER: Huntsville native Josh Kestner recorded the first goal of the season in the series opener on Friday in addition to an assist for his first multi-point performance of 2016-17. Kestner now rates tied for second on the roster with five points (1g-4a), while ranking tied for ninth in the WCHA with four assists.
 
BETWEEN THE PIPES: For the second weekend in a row, Jordan Uhelski played the most time in goal for the Chargers as he totaled 80 minutes with 34 saves and five goals allowed. Uhelski now owns a 2.73 goals against average and a .905 save percentage through five appearances and two starts.
 
ON THE BLOCK: UAH leads the nation as a team with a total of 127 blocks on defense, with Cam Knight leading the NCAA with 22 blocks followed by Brandon Carlson and Brandon Parker tied for second with 19 blocks.
 
HUSKIES PROFILE: St. Cloud State enters the weekend series with a 2-2-0 overall record so far in 2016-17, after most recently sweeping Minnesota in a two-game set last weekend. Judd Peterson paces the Huskies offense with five points on four goals and one assist, while Zach Driscoll and Jeff Smith have split time in goal for a 4.20 goals against average and a .861 save percentage.
 
MATCHUP HISTORY: The Chargers are 0-11-0 all-time against St. Cloud State, with the first matchup occurring in 1988 and the last coming on Nov. 16, 2013. UAH last traveled to the Huskies for a two-game series on Oct. 19-20 in the 2012-13 campaign.
