UAH Completes Series Sweep of Alaska Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team completed the WCHA series sweep at Alaska Anchorage with a 3-2 overtime win in the series finale on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena. UAH improves to 4-7-1 (4-3-1 WCHA), while UAA slips to 1-6-0 (0-4-0 WCHA).
 
Turning Point
- Junior alternate captain Matt Salhany provided the game-winning goal for the Chargers in the overtime period at 3:54 to clinch the squad's second series sweep of the season.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Following a scoreless first period, Hans Gorowsky put the Chargers on the board with his third of the season at 8:26 of the second on the power play with assists by juniors Max McHugh and Josh Kestner.
- The Chargers would later add to their lead at 19:12 of the second frame as Kurt Gosselin sent in his third of the season, thanks to helpers by McHugh and fellow sophomore Cam Knight.
- After second intermission, Alaska Anchorage was able to dig into the Chargers lead with a goal by Matt Anholt at 5:52 of the third prior to Nils Rygaard forcing overtime with a shorthanded marker at 14:07.
- Jordan Uhelski improved to 2-3-1 on the year with the victory, after totaling two goals allowed and 14 saves.
- UAH put a season-high 34 shots on goal in the sweep-clinching win, led by Gosselin with eight shots on net.

- Program's first-ever sweep when visiting Alaska Anchorage.
- The Chargers have now swept two road series in a season for the first time in the program's WCHA history.
- First time UAH has swept two road series in a season since the 2004-05 season.
- UAH's third overtime victory in the program's WCHA tenure.
- McHugh registered four points in a weekend for the first time in his career, posting two assists a piece in each win over UAA.
 
Next Time Out
- UAH returns home to begin a three-series home stand with a two-game set against Alaska Fairbanks on Friday and Saturday at the Von Braun Center. Puck drops at 7:07 p.m. for both nights.
