HUNTSVILLE | The 11th-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team fell to a tough West Georgia team on Thursday night, dropping an 81-78 decision at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers slip to 5-3 (1-1 Gulf South Conference), while UWG improves to 5-3 (2-0 GSC).

Turning Point
-With UAH leading by a point at 73-72 and just 2:41 left in the game, West Georgia outscored the hosts 9-5 in the final minutes – including a 5-0 run – to secure the victory.

Inside the Box Score
-The Chargers were led on the night by
Seab Webster who scored 20 while also grabbing seven rebounds, and his team-best rebounding performance was matched by
Troy Saxton who also scored 15.
-They were joined in double figures by
Brandon Roberts with 14 and
Justin Ward who came off the bench to score 10.
-Steph Branch scored 26 to lead West Georgia.
-UAH was outshot on the night by West Georgia by a 46.6 percent to 40.7 percent clip, and both teams were an identical 8-for-23 from beyond the arc.
-UWG also grabbed 40 rebounds to UAH's 32, and the Wolves held a key 9-5 difference in second chance points.
-The Chargers forced the guests to turn the ball over 17 times while limiting their own miscues to just 12, and UAH converted that into a 22-12 difference in points off turnovers.

-West Georgia scored the game's first nine points, but UAH then put together an 11-0 run of its own to go in front for the first time at 13-12 at the 13:40 mark of the opening half.
-After the game was tied at 26-26 with just under seven minutes left in the first half, UAH went on an 18-6 run over nearly five minutes to open up a 44-32 advantage with 2:11 left until the half, but UWG scored seven straight to cut the deficit to just 44-39 at the break.
-That run for the guests continued into the second half and ultimately was a 13-0 run that put UWG back ahead at 46-45 with 18:20 remaining in the game.
-Neither team would be able to push its advantage out more than four the rest of the way as the game finished with a combined 20 lead changes and 13 ties.

-The 20-point showing for Webster marks the second time this year he has reached that plateau.
-Roberts is now averaging 13.3 points per game and has scored in double figures in six of the team's eight contests.
-Ward's average ticks up to 9.4 points per game which is third best on the team, registering that in 18.4 minutes per contest as a key reserve.
