WEEKEND AHEAD: The Chargers continue WCHA play this weekend with a trip to Marquette, Michigan, to take on Northern Michigan in a two-game set on Friday and Saturday at 6:07 p.m. CST both nights. UAH is 2-11-3 all-time against NMU and 0-7-1 when visiting the Wildcats.

RECENT ACTION: The Chargers remain in a two-way tie for fifth place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association standings entering the week, following a series split with Ferris State this past weekend with a 5-3 win on Saturday and a 3-1 loss on Sunday in Huntsville. UAH is now 5-11-2 overall and 5-7-2 within the WCHA for a program-best 17 league points in 2016-17.

SUSTAINED SUCCESS: Sophomore Kurt Gosselin – now a two-time WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honoree – continued to excel offensively for the Chargers blue line, as the defenseman notched the program's first hat trick since Feb. 1, 2008 by Cale Tanaka and the first by a UAH defenseman since Jan. 2, 1999 by Shane Stewart in the series-opening 5-3 win over FSU on Saturday. Gosselin is now tied for the team lead and second amongst WCHA defensemen with 13 points, while leading the league's defensemen and the UAH roster with seven goals. PRODUCTION CONTINUES: A native of North Reading, Massachusetts, Cam Knight has been one of the Chargers top offensive performers in the past 11 games with the sophomore owning 11 points from three goals and eight assists since Oct. 28. After posting one goal and three assists in the weekend series against Ferris State, Knight is now tied for third on the roster with 12 points and leads the squad with nine assists in 2016-17.

TRENDING UPWARD: Max McHugh posted a four-point weekend with four assists during the series against the visiting Bulldogs on Saturday and Sunday, recording a career-high three assists during the series-opening victory. McHugh is now tied for the team lead in points with 13 from five goals and eight assists.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Jordan Uhelski now owns a record of 3-4-2 after starting both games for the Blue & White this past weekend in Huntsville, with the junior posting 59 saves and allowing six goals in the two-game series. Uhelski enters the week with a 3.07 goal against average and a .900 save percentage in 2016-17.

WILDCATS PROFILE: Northern Michigan begins the week with a 4-12-2 overall record and a mark of 2-9-1 in the WCHA slate, after most recently splitting last weekend's series at Alaska Anchorage. NMU's offense is paced by Robbie Payne with 13 points on five goals and eight assists, while Atte Tolvanen has played the majority of the time in goal for a 2.93 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following this weekend's tilt at Northern Michigan, the Chargers look ahead to the 26th Annual Mariucci Classic on Dec. 30-31 at Minnesota. UAH will matchup with UMass in the opener on Dec. 30 at 4:05 p.m. CST, prior to playing either Mercyhurst or Minnesota on Dec. 31 at a to-be-determined time.
