RECENT ACTION: UAH now sits at 6-17-3 overall and 4-13-3 within the WCHA for 11 league points, following a series split at Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 29-30. The Blue and White are 2-3-1 in their last three series, which is the strongest stretch of games since starting the 2015-16 campaign 3-2-1.

ROOKIE GROWING: Freshman
Tyler Poulsen posted his second career two-point weekend with a goal and an assist at Alaska Anchorage, which netted the forward WCHA Rookie of the Week honors. This season, Poulsen owns five points from three goals and two assists, and has registered three points in his last four appearances.

GAINING CONSISTENCY: Junior
Matt Salhany is averaging a point a game in his last four contests, including two points from a goal – the game-winner in the opener – and an assist in the split at UAA. Salhany has paced the UAH offense with his four points (2g-2a) in the last four games, while also leading the team with a +5 rating on the ice.

SUCCESSFUL BACKSTOP: Matt Larose was between the pipes for the Chargers for both games against the Seawolves, giving the junior a 2-1-1 record with a .935 save percentage for the month of January. Larose is second in the WCHA and seventh nationally since Dec. 18 with a .944 save percentage, and holds a 4-5-1 record overall in 2015-16 after going 1-25-2 in his first two seasons in the Blue and White.

POINTS LEADER:Max McHugh dished out his team-leading 15th assist of the season at UAA on Jan. 30, giving the sophomore 21 points from an additional six goals. McHugh is currently tied for second in the WCHA in assists, while rating tied for seventh in points within the league.

VETERAN PRESENCE: Senior
Frank Misuraca has been a catalyst for the Chargers defense this season, playing in all of the Blue and White's 26 games and ranking seventh in the WCHA with a team-high 51 blocks. Misuraca has also contributed one goal and four assists for five points from the blue line.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH is 19-27-5 all-time against Minnesota State, with the Mavericks taking both matchups earlier this season in Mankato by scores of 2-1 and 4-1. The Chargers hold the edge over MSU when playing in Huntsville, as the Blue and White are 13-10-1 against the Mavericks at the VBC.
MAVERICKS PROFILE: Minnesota State is coming off a series split with nationally-ranked Bowling Green in Mankato this past weekend, which keeps the Mavericks atop the league standings with 31 WCHA points from a 13-4-5 record against conference opponents. Teddy Blueger paces the MSU offense with 26 points (8g-18a), while Jason Pawloski and Cole Huggins have split time in net for a .899 save percentage and a 2.16 goals against average.
