RECENT ACTION: UAH added two WCHA points with a pair of ties against nationally-ranked Minnesota State this past weekend, giving the squad a 6-17-5 overall record and a 4-13-5 mark within the league for 13 WCHA points.

WEEK'S BEST: The Chargers benefitted from stellar goaltending by Matt Larose on both Friday and Saturday night, as the Nanaimo, British Columbia, native stopped 83-of-87 shots including a WCHA single-game high 49 saves in the 1-1 tie on Saturday. Larose earned WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career from his performance this past weekend.

HOT STREAK: Larose has been one of the most successful goaltenders in the NCAA since Dec. 18, with the junior ranking fourth nationally and leading the WCHA with a .954 save percentage in that time span. He currently sports a 4-5-3 overall record and is 3-1-3 in his last seven starts.

JUNIOR DELIVERS: Matt Salhany delivered the game-tying goal late in the third period on Saturday, which was the junior's fourth career shorthanded marker and his second in 2015-16. Salhany now has eight points on the year from three goals and five assists, having totaled five points (3g-2a) in his last six games played.

ROOKIES IMPRESSING: Freshman Madison Dunn posted his first career goal and multi-goal performance in Friday's 3-3 tie  with the Mavericks, giving the rookie three points on two tallies and three assists this season. The Chargers rookie class overall – led by Kurt Gosselin's nine points (2g-7a) – has posted a combined 36 points from 17 goals and 19 assists.

BACK ON THE ICE: Senior Chad Brears returned to the lineup this past weekend after missing the two games at Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 29-30. Brears leads the team in goals scored with nine and is tied for second on the roster with 17 points from an additional eight assists. The Cold Lake, Alberta, native also paces the squad with a +6 rating on the ice.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH will be on the road for the following two series with trips to Northern Michigan this weekend and then to rival Bemidji State on Feb. 26-27. The Chargers are 2-9-3 all-time against the Wildcats, with NMU taking three of four points in a WCHA series in Huntsville on Dec. 4-5 this season.

WILDCATS PROFILE: Northern Michigan enters the weekend in fifth place in the league standings with a 10-8-4 record for 24 WCHA points, while holding a 13-11-6 overall mark in 2015-16. The Wildcats most recently split a conference series with Ferris State this past weekend, falling in the opener 5-1 and winning the finale 3-2.
