UAH Drops Match to Visiting Tennessee Martin

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to visiting Division I member Tennessee Martin on Friday evening. The Chargers slip to 2-5 on the year, while UTM improves to 2-7.
 
UAH will look to bounce back from the setback on Saturday when the team steps back into Gulf South Conference play, traveling to Christian Brothers for a 12:30 p.m. contest.
 
In doubles play on Friday, the Chargers fell 2-1 to drop the point to the visitors. It was Anniek Remmerswaal and Cristina Cabanas that joined together at the No. 2 match to win 6-3, but the Skyhawks won 6-3 at the first and 6-2.
 
Cabanas then was also a winner in singles action as she won 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 3 position.
 
Marleen Gort battled at the top position but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-3.
