GSC PLAY BEGINS: Riding a three-game winning streak, the UAH women's soccer team will open up conference play this week as Valdosta State visits Charger Park on Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff, and the weekend will conclude with a Sunday afternoon visit from West Georgia which is slated for a 1 p.m. start. UAH carries a 3-1-0 record into the weekend.

CLEAN SWEEP: UAH swept all three weekly honors from the Gulf South Conference this week to mark the first time since the Freshman of the Week honor was introduced that a team claimed all three accolades.
Sydney Pfankuch was honored as the Player of the Week,
Larae Breaux as the Defender of the Week, and
Arieal Alexander as the Freshman of the Week.

BRICK WALL IN GOAL: Breaux has been terrific in goal for the Chargers thus far this season, and she presently is 18th in Division II in save percentage with a mark of .929 as she has allowed just two goals on the year while posting a pair of shutouts. She has logged 37 saves, and that total is good for 37th in the nation.

BALANCED ATTACK: Four different Chargers are at the top of UAH's ledger offensively with Pfankuch and
Melody Hoernschemeyer tied for the team lead in points at five as Pfankuch has two goals and an assist with Hoernschemeyer owning a goal and three assists, and the Alexanders sit in second with four points.
Arieal Alexander has scored while adding a pair of assists, and
Alexcia Alexander has scored twice.

ABOUT VALDOSTA STATE: VSU enters conference play at 0-3-1 on the year after starting off the season with a strong slate of non-conference foes. Magan Muffley owns VSU's lone goal on the season, while Alyssa Curtis has stopped 38 shots in goal for the Lady Blazers.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 1-5-0 in the brief all-time series with the Lady Blazers after dropping a 2-0 decision in Huntsville a season ago. UAH's victory against VSU came in the 2013 GSC tournament when the Chargers won 2-1 to advance to the semifinals.

ABOUT WEST GEORGIA: West Georgia owns a 3-1-0 overall mark heading into the first weekend of conference play which starts for the Wolves on Friday night with a visit to West Alabama. With three goals to her credit, Susana Abundiz leads the team in scoring, and Morgan Springer has an impressive 0.48 goals against average.

SERIES HISTORY: In the all-time series with the Wolves, UAH is 3-6-2, and it was West Georgia who won the last meeting by claiming a 3-1 decision last season in the Peach State. The teams last met in Huntsville in 2014 when UWG was a 2-1 winner.
