RIGHT BACK AT IT: Coming off of Tuesday's upset of No. 10 Carson-Newman that lifted the team to 1-1-0 on the year, The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team will hit the pitch again on Thursday for its third game in five days with a road game at Montevallo on tap for 5 p.m. The Chargers will then return home for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday against Tusculum.
Â
TRIPLE THREAT: UAH received strong play up front in the victory over C-N as each of
Sydney Pfankuch,
Arieal Alexander, and
Melody Hoernschemeyer chipped in on the first two goals with Hoernschemeyer adding the third in the 3-1 decision. That trio also holds down three of the top four spots in shots through two games with Pfankuch's seven leading the Chargers.
Â
NON-CONFERENECE WINDING DOWN: The next two contests represent the last before conference play begins when Friday Night Football returns to Charger Park when the Chargers welcome Valdosta State on Sept. 16. UAH will then have just one non-conference match remaining as the team will entertain Oakwood on Sept. 26.
Â
BREAUX AT THE TOP: Just two games are in the books, but UAH keeper
Larae Breaux is already at the top of the Gulf South Conference in saves as she has logged 17 after stopping 14 in the signature victory on Tuesday. The second-best total belongs to Emily Wragg of Christian Brothers who is in second with 11 through three contests.
