RECENT ACTION: UAH is now tied for sixth in the WCHA standings with an overall record of 7-15-2 and a 7-9-2 record within the conference for 23 league points, after most recently dropping both games of the home series on Jan. 6-7 to then-No. 19 Minnesota State by scores of 3-0 and 3-2.

UPCOMING WEEKEND: The Chargers head north to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to take on Lake Superior State in a two-game series this Friday and Saturday, with puck drop slated for 6:37 p.m. CST for the opener and 6:07 p.m. for the finale. LSSU holds the edge in the season series so far in 2016-17, as the Lakers topped UAH twice in Huntsville on Oct. 21-22.

ON THE ROAD: UAH has had a bevy of success in road WCHA contests this season going 6-1-1 when visiting league opponents, which includes series sweeps of then-No. 20 Ferris State, Alaska Anchorage and Northern Michigan. Among WCHA road games in 2016-17, the Chargers offense ranks third with 71 points (25g-46a), led by
Josh Kestner's nine points (2g-7a) which are tied for fifth in league road contests.

HOMETOWN LEADER: Huntsville native
Josh Kestner remains atop the Chargers offense with a career-best 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, despite being held without a point in the Minnesota State series. Over his past six appearances, Kestner has five points from two goals and three assists.

FINDING THE NET: Max McHugh scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the MSU series finale, giving the junior forward 16 points on the season with an additional eight assists to rank second on the UAH offense. McHugh increased his career points total to a roster-best 61 from 27 goals and 34 assists with his tally against the Mavericks.

MAINTAINING CONSISTENCY: After potting his fifth goal of the season in the Chargers most recent contest,
Hans Gorowsky now has six points from two goals and four assists in his past eight appearances. Gorowsky has risen to a tie for fifth on the roster with a career-high 10 points (5g-5a).

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Fourth-year head coach
Mike Corbett again went with the tandem of
Jordan Uhelski and
Carmine Guerriero between the pipes against Minnesota State, with Uhelski posting 30 saves and two goals allowed in the opener and Guerriero recording 22 saves and three goals allowed during the finale. So far in 2016-17, UAH goaltenders have combined for a 3.46 goals against average and an .885 save percentage, paced by Uhelski's .909 save percentage and 2.63 GAA.

DEFENSIVE PRODUCTION: Brandon Parker continues to lead the Chargers on the defensive end with 50 blocks to rate tied for fifth nationally, while also ranking third amongst UAH defensemen with six goals and four assists. Over his past nine games played, Parker has contributed five goals and one assist.

LAKERS PROFILE: Lake Superior State enters the week with a 9-12-3 overall record and a 6-9-3 record within the WCHA, after a pair of 1-1 ties against Northern Michigan this past weekend in a home-and-home series. The Lakers offense is paced by junior JT Henke with 23 points (7g-16a), while Gordon Defiel has played the majority of time in goal for a 2.54 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. UAH is 6-8-2 overall against LSSU and 5-1-2 when visiting the Lakers.
