MARTIN, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team stepped out of regular season action on Monday night, falling to UT Martin 104-73 in a contest that counted as an exhibition for the Chargers.

Turning Point
-UAH battled tough in the first quarter, trailing just 25-22 at the end of the period, but the hosts took control of the game by outscoring the Chargers 26-12 in the second.

Inside the Box Score
-Chandler Elder led a trio of Chargers who scored in double figures as she tallied 19, while Aryn Sanders went 6-for-10 overall and 4-for-6 from beyond the arc to tally 16.
-Scoring 12 to round out the double-figure scorers for UAH was Loren Foster.
-The Chargers were strong on the glass on the night, grabbing 44 rebounds to UTM's 35, and both Morgan Tipton and Elder collected six boards with four other UAH players – Sanders, Foster, Katie Speegle, and Emme Willoughby – recording five.
-For the contest, UAH shot 42.4 percent from the floor while the Skyhawks connected on 50.6 percent of their attempts, and the Division I team was able to force UAH into 33 turnovers to outscore the Chargers 38-14 in points off miscues.
-The Chargers did have 17 assists on 25 made baskets in the contest, and a team-best six of those came from Sanders.

Inside the Flow
-UT Martin built up a six-point lead at 16-10 at the 4:51 mark of the opening quarter, but an 8-2 run for the Chargers keyed by points from four different players allowed UAH to tie it at 18-18 before the Skyhawks carried the 25-22 lead into the second frame.
-The hosts then scored 17 of the first 20 points in the second to grab a hold of the momentum, and after leading 51-34 at the half, the lead would grow to as many as 33 in the third quarter which ended with UTM up 83-55.
-UAH did put together a nice 12-1 stretch in the middle of the fourth quarter that narrowed the gap to 23 at one point before the game ended with the 104-73 final.
