UPCOMING WEEKEND: UAH (5-8-1, 4-3-1 WCHA) begins a stretch of six road WCHA series this weekend with the squad's second trek of the season to Michigan's Upper Peninsula this time to take on Northern Michigan (7-7-0, 5-3-0 WCHA) in Marquette on Friday and Saturday with puck drops slated for 6 p.m. CT both nights.

RECENT ACTION: The Chargers wrapped up a six-game home stand – in which the team went 3-2-1 – with a series split against Ferris State over the weekend, as the Bulldogs took the series opener Friday 6-2 before UAH registered a come-from-behind 5-3 win in Saturday's finale. UAH scored five goals in three of the six home contests over the past three weeks, after having scored five times in just two games during the 2016-17 home slate.

HOMETOWN LEADER: Huntsville native Josh Kestner paced the UAH offense this past weekend with three points on two goals and one assist during the series split against the Bulldogs. Overall this season, Kestner leads the roster and ranks third in the WCHA with eight goals while tying for the team lead in points with 12 on an additional four assists.

HELPING HANDS: Tyler Poulsen is tied with Kestner for the team lead in points at 12 - a career-high for the junior – with three goals and a team-best nine assists. Poulsen has posted seven assists in the past five games, and he's now tied for seventh in the WCHA with his career-best nine assists.

STAYING POSITIVE: The Chargers have six players on the positive side in plus-minus so far in the 2017-18 season, led by junior Madison Dunn with a +7 rating on the ice which ranks tied for second in the WCHA. Last season, UAH had just two players with positive ratings at the end of the campaign.

DOUBLING UP: Brandon Salerno highlighted the Chargers 5-3 come-from-behind victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday as he notched a shorthanded marker and the game-winning tally for his first career two-goal performance. Salerno now owns five points this season from two goals on three assists.

PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES: Following this weekend against Northern Michigan, UAH looks ahead to series at Bowling Green (Dec. 8-9), Minnesota State (Dec. 15-16), Bemidji State (Dec. 29-30), Alaska Fairbanks (Jan. 5-6) and Alaska Anchorage (Jan. 12-13).

WILDCATS PROFILE: Northern Michigan enters the weekend with a 7-7-0 overall record and a 5-3-0 mark in the WCHA slate, following a pair of nonconference losses at Nebraska-Omaha over the weekend. The Wildcats offense is highlighted by Robbie Payne with a team-high 16 points on 12 goals and four assists, while Atte Tolvanen has played the majority of time in goal for a 2.43 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers and Wildcats will meet for the 19th and 20th times this upcoming weekend, as UAH (13 points) and Northern Michigan (15 points) rank fifth and fourth, respectively, in the WCHA standings. UAH is 4-11-3 all-time against NMU and 2-7-1 when visiting Marquette, but the two squads have played closely since the 2014-15 season with both teams owning 4-4-2 records in the series since that campaign.
