BACK IN GSC PLAY: The UAH women's basketball team will wrap up its pre-Christmas slate with a pair of home conference games, welcoming Lee on Saturday at 2 p.m. before hosting Shorter on Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Chargers enter the pair of games at 6-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

LAST TIME OUT: UAH stepped out of league action last weekend, defeating SIAC member Claflin 59-47 at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. With Aryn Sanders knocking down four, the Chargers hit a season-best 11 3-pointers in the victory.

PROTECTING THE ROCK: After turning the ball over 46 times in the first two games of the year and averaging nearly 19 turnovers per game over the first four contests, the Chargers have limited their miscues dramatically over the last four games, giving it away on average 14.8 times during that span including matching a season-low with just 10 at West Alabama on Dec. 3.

TOUGH D: UAH is allowing the opposition to score just 57.1 points per game, and that mark is tied for the third-best in the GSC with Valdosta State. Holding teams under 40 percent in six of the team's eight games, the Chargers rank fourth in the conference in field goal percentage defense at 36.0 percent, and the team is also fourth in the conference by allowing the opposition to shoot just 26.2 percent from beyond the arc on the season.

CLEANING THE GLASS: Chandler Elder leads the Chargers and ranks fifth in the conference with 7.8 rebounds per game, and the senior has grabbed at least seven boards in seven of the team's eight games. Twice she has recorded double figures in rebounds including a season-best 12 against Kentucky State on Nov. 22.

ABOUT THE FLAMES: Lee enters the weekend at 8-2 overall and 1-1 in league play, and the team is making just its second road trip of the season with eight of its 10 games being played in Cleveland and another being on a neutral floor. Erin Walsh is connecting on 41.2 percent of her attempts from 3-point land and leads the Flames with a 14.8 points per game scoring average, while Carrie Cheeks grabs a team-best 8.7 rebounds per contest.

SERIES HISTORY: Lee holds a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs after taking both meetings a season ago including a 73-61 decision in the Rocket City.

ABOUT SHORTER: The Hawks are 2-7 on the year including an 0-3 mark in conference play after falling 94-44 at North Alabama on Thursday night. Jasmine Gaines leads Shorter offensively with 10.6 points per game, and BreAnna Thompson hits 3-pointers at a 45.5 percent clip while leading the team on the glass with 7.2 rebounds per outing.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers trail 13-9 in the all-time series against Shorter after the Hawks won both contests last year. In Huntsville, the Hawks were 68-57 winners.
