ROUND TWO CONTINUES: The second half of the conference season continues this week as the UAH women's basketball team travels to Rome, Georgia, to take on Shorter at 5 p.m. CST, and the team will then turn around to host Lee on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Chargers enter the week at 4-15 overall and 3-11 in the Gulf South Conference.

AROUND THE GSC: West Florida continues to lead the GSC as the Argos are 11-3 in conference play, while UNA, Lee, and Valdosta State are each tied for second with identical 9-5 marks. The fifth-place team is currently Christian Brothers at 8-6, and just a half-game behind CBU are Mississippi College and West Georgia at 7-6. Shorter rounds out the top eight in the league at 6-8.

SHARING THE BALL: UAH is 2-1 since making the turn in conference play, and it is no small coincidence that the Chargers have recorded double figures in assists in all three games, totaling 13 against both Delta State and Mississippi College before turning in a season-high 16 in the win over North Alabama. Four different players have at least six assists during this time frame wth Elder's nine leading the way.

STRONG SHOOTING: UAH is shooting 49.6 percent from the field over the past three games which is well over the overall mark for the season of 42.1 percent, and with the win over UNA, the Chargers moved to 3-2 on the year when shooting better than 50.0 percent. Elder is leading the team over the past three contest, shooting 54.5 percent including a 66.7 percent success rate from beyond the arc.

ABOUT SHORTER: The Hawks enter play on Thursday at 7-12 overall and 6-8 in league play, and the team is 5-5 in Rome after suffering a 74-56 setback to Lee on Monday night. Taylor Adams connotes to lead SU, scoring 18.1 points per game to go along with a rebounding average of 9.4 boards per contest. As a team, the Hawks shoot 38.8 percent.

SERIES HISTORY: In the prior meeting this year between the two programs,
Baylee Johnson scored 17 for the Chargers in a 68-57 setback in Huntsville that allowed Shorter to move ahead to a 12-9 lead in the all-time series. Last year in Rome, Shorter was a 66-58 winner.

ABOUT LEE: The Flames have won two straight to move to 14-6 (9-5 GSC) after the win over Shorter on Monday night, but the team enters the weekend at just 4-4 on the road. Going into Thursday night's game in the Volunteer State against UNA, Erin Walsh leads Lee with 14.7 points per contest, while Carrie Cheeks is shooting 62.8 percent and averaging 12.3 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: When UAH traveled to Lee back on Jan. 21, the Flames were 72-56 winners, and Lee now holds a 6-4 edge in the all-time series. A year ago, the Flames visited Huntsville and gave the Chargers a 79-52 loss.
