ON THE ROAD: The UAH men's lacrosse team will face its first road challenge of the year this Saturday, traveling to Harrogate, Tennessee, to square off against Lincoln Memorial at 12 p.m. CST. The Chargers enter the contest at 0-1 on the year.
Â
RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers began the 2017 campaign with a 16-9 setback to North Greenville at Charger Park. In the contest, UAH was led by
Bryant Baus who had four points on three goals and an assist.
Â
FRESHMAN IMPACT: Three of the team's top four scorers against NGU were newcomers to the team with Baus leading the way with his four-point day. Joining him were
Jack Utrevis who also had three goals and
Luke LeVette who scored a goal and also recorded an assist.
Â
FIRE AWAY: The Chargers attempted 30 shots in the first game of the season, and that number represents a total higher than the team had in seven of the squad's 11 games in 2016.
Â
IN THE CAGE: UAH split the time in goal last week essentially evenly between
Kyle Siersma – who earned the start in his debut contest in the Blue and White – and
Michl McNeil. McNeil stopped eight shots in his half an hour of work, while Siersma recorded five stops.
Â
ABOUT LINCOLN MEMORIAL: The Railsplitters are 0-1 on the season after dropping a road contest at Florida Tech last weekend to open the season. In the 20-6 loss, both Billy Kopsky and Adam Golia netted a pair of goals to lead LMU's offensive attack.
Â
SERIES HISTORY: The meeting Saturday represents the first between the two programs as LMU began playing men's lacrosse in 2015 while UAH adopted the sport last year.
