RECENT ACTION: UAH (7-18-3, 7-12-3 WCHA) remains in eighth place in the league standings with 24 points after picking up one point in the weekend series against Michigan Tech this past weekend with a 5-2 loss in the opener and a 4-4 tie in regulation in the finale.
 
WEEKEND AHEAD: The Chargers make their second trek of the season to the Last Frontier this coming weekend with a two-game series at Alaska Fairbanks on Friday and Saturday night, with puck drop slated to 10:07 p.m. CST both nights. UAH is 0-1-1 so far in the season series against UAF after hosting the Nanooks on Nov. 11-12, while holding a 7-20-2 all-time record against Alaska Fairbanks and a 3-11-0 mark when visiting UAF.
 
DEFENSIVE PRODUCTION: Kurt Gosselin had his second, three-point game of the season with one goal and two assists in Saturday's 4-4 tie, which raises his the sophomore to second on the UAH roster with 18 points on a team-high nine goals in addition to nine assists. Since Jan. 20, Gosselin is tied for second amongst WCHA defensemen with five points on two goals and three assists.
 
PACING THE POINT: Josh Kestner finished the month of January with two goals and two assists for four points in six games played, keeping the junior atop the UAH roster with a career-high 21 points from eight goals and 13 assists. Kestner enters the week ranked tied for 10th in the WCHA with 21 points and tied for 10th with 13 assists.
 
SOPHOMORE RISING: Hans Gorowsky netted his sixth goal of the season and his second career shorthanded marker in Saturday's series finale, and he now ranks tied for fourth on the team in goals scored. So far in his sophomore season, Gorowsky has set career highs in points (11), goals (6) and assists (5).
 
HELPING HAND: Brandon Parker has four assists in the Chargers past four games after totaling a team-high three assists in the weekend series against Michigan Tech. Parker has now recorded at least one point in seven of the past 11 WCHA games for the Chargers.
 
SECOND YEAR SURGE: Since Dec. 3, sophomore Cam Knight is tied for first among WCHA defensemen with eight points on one goal and seven assists, which has propelled him to rank second amongst UAH defensemen with 16 points (3g-13a) this season and tied for second on the roster with 13 assists.
 
ROOKIE LEADER: Jordan Larson registered his fourth goal of the season in the series opener against Michigan Tech, raising the freshman's UAH class-leading point total to 11 from four goals and seven assists this season. Larson enters the week in a tie for 15th among WCHA freshmen with 11 points.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: After this weekend's series at Alaska, the Chargers return home for the final time in 2016-17 as rival Bemidji State visits the Rocket City on Feb. 10-11 prior to the squad traveling to Bowling Green to wrap up the season on Feb. 24-25.
 
NANOOKS PROFILE: Alaska Fairbanks enters the week with a 8-15-3 overall record and a 7-10-3 mark within the WCHA, following a 3-2 win and a 2-1 loss at Bowling Green on Jan. 20-21. The Nanooks offense boasts a total of six players with 10 points or more led by Marcus Basara with 18 points (8g-10a), while Davis Jones and Jesse Jenks have split time in goal for a 3.34 goals against average and a .894 save percentage.
