LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's tennis team was back in action on Monday, dropping a Gulf South Conference match at West Alabama by an 8-1 score. The Chargers slip to 3-4 (1-1 GSC), while UWA improves to 5-1 (1-0 GSC).

The lone point for the Chargers came in doubles play as the No. 2 pairing of
Marleen Gort and
Naomi Esteve were 8-3 winners. UAH's top duo of
Aniek Remmerswaal and
Sarah Stearman did put up a strong fight before falling 8-6.

In singles action, the most competitive match for the Blue and White came at the second position where
Cristina Cabanas dropped a 7-5, 6-4 decision, while Stearman took seven games from her opponent in falling 6-4, 6-4 at the fourth spot.

The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday when the team travels to Pensacola, Florida, for a neutral site contest against Rollins.
