No. 7 West Florida Earns Victory Over UAH in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's tennis team fell at No. 7 West Florida on Sunday, dropping a 9-0 decision to the Argos. The Chargers slip to 3-6 (1-2 Gulf South Conference), while UWF improves to 5-0 (2-0 GSC).
 
The hosts took all three doubles points to start out the match, and the Chargers were the most competitive in the Nos. 1 and 3 matches in which the top pairing of Aniek Remmerswaal and Sarah Stearman and the third duo of Cristina Cabanas and Monika Poakovic both fell 8-4.
 
In singles play, the best showing came from the fifth position where Stearman took a total of six games from her opponent in falling 7-5, 6-1, while Cabanas at the second spot, Esteve in the fourth position, and Polakovic in the sixth both won five games in falling 6-3, 6-2; 6-1, 6-4; and 6-4, 6-1, respectively.
 
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday when the team continues conference play in Huntsville with a 1 p.m. match against Delta State.
