BACK AT CHARGER PARK: The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team returns to Charger Park on Wednesday when the team welcomes Chowan for a 3:30 p.m. showdown. UAH enters the contest at 1-3 on the season, and the squad is 1-1 at home.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers traveled this past weekend to Lees-McRae where the team fell in a tight 14-11 game. Freshman Bryant Baus scored a team-best three times in the setback.

SCORING INCREASE: After averaging 7.5 goals per game a year ago, the Chargers have increased their goal scoring average by four goals per game as the team is averaging 11.5 in 2017.

OPPONENT DECREASE: Conversely, the defensive effort by the Chargers has also been stronger as the team is giving up just under 11 goals per game this season compared to surrendering nearly 15 goals per contest a year ago.

WINNING FACE-OFFS: After seeing the opposition win 68.6 percent of face-offs last year, the Chargers have won 53.9 percent of their face-offs this year with Jake Fowler winning 51 of the 90 he has taken on the year. He has won 17 in each of the past two contests.

ABOUT CHOWAN: In their first year as a program, the Hawks are 0-4 on the year with losses to Saint Leo, Coker, Catawba, and – most recently – a 22-17 setback at home to Davis & Elkins. The team features a dynamic scorer in Nick Lavoy who has 14 goals and three assists for a team-best 17 points, while Austin Lee has stopped 29 shots while playing the most minutes in the cage of the three goalies the team has used.

SERIES HISTORY: Wednesday's meeting will represent the first-ever between the two programs.
