EDINA, Minn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's hockey team garnered a total of 19 honorees as part of the 2016-17 Western Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team the league announced Thursday.
 
A total of 143 student-athletes, representing all 10 member institutions, have earned distinction as members of the men's 2016-17 WCHA All-Academic Team. To earn recognition as a member of the WCHA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed one year of eligibility at their present institution prior to the current academic year, have a grade-point average of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if overall GPA is at least 3.0 for all terms at the present institution.
 
Honorees representing UAH as WCHA All-Academic Team members include Hunter Anderson, Richard Buri, Cody Champagne, Madison Dunn, Brent Fletcher, Hans Gorowsky, Kurt Gosselin, Jetlan Houcher, Josh Kestner, Cam Knight, Matt Larose, Max McHugh, Brandon Parker, Brandon Salerno, Matt Salhany, Regan Soquila, John Teets, Jordan Uhelski and Adam Wilcox.
 
UAH capped off the 2016-17 season with a 9-22-3 overall record and a 9-16-3 mark within the WCHA.
