EDINA, Minn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's hockey team garnered a total of 19 honorees as part of the 2016-17 Western Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team the league announced Thursday.

A total of 143 student-athletes, representing all 10 member institutions, have earned distinction as members of the men's 2016-17 WCHA All-Academic Team. To earn recognition as a member of the WCHA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed one year of eligibility at their present institution prior to the current academic year, have a grade-point average of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if overall GPA is at least 3.0 for all terms at the present institution.
