MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville tennis teams closed out the season on Thursday as the men's team fell 5-0 to West Florida and the women's team dropped a 5-0 decision to West Alabama in the GSC tournament quarterfinals. The men finish the year at 10-15, while the women wrap up the season at 9-13.

On the men's side, West Florida claimed a 3-0 lead in the match by taking all the doubles points, and the Chargers strongest showing came from the top spot where
Elliot Hopson and
Sebastian Rohrbach fell 8-4.

West Florida then captured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the top position in singles play and won 6-0, 6-1 at the fifth to wrap up the match.

In the women's contest, the Chargers fell behind 3-0 after doubles as the Tigers took all three points with UAH's best effort coming from the second pairing of
Naomi Esteve and
Marleen Gort who fell 8-5.

In singles action, UWA sealed the match when the Tigers picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at the fifth and a 6-0, 6-3 win at the sixth.
