Corbett Announces Eight Additions for 2017-18

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey head coach Mike Corbett announced the addition of eight student-athletes to the roster for the upcoming 2017-18 campaign. The group features two goalies, five forwards and one defenseman.
 
Josh Astorino
Position: Goalie
Hometown: Niagara Falls, Ontario
Previous Team: Georgetown Raiders (OJHL)
Height: 6-2
Weight: 175
 
Bio: Spent the 2016-17 season with the Georgetown Raiders of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, appearing in 35 contests with a 1.93 goals against average and a .936 save percentage … Led the OJHL in 2016-17 with a .936 save percentage, was the OJHL Goaltender of the Year and an OJHL First Team All-Star … Helped Georgetown to a OJHL Championship in 2016-17 … Previously played the 2014-15 and 2015-16 campaigns with the Thorold Blackhawks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League … Made 70 career appearances between the pipes for Thorold.
 
Corbett on Astorino: "Astorino excelled this past season as the OJHL's Goaltender of the Year and aided Georgetown to an OJHL Championship in his first season playing at the Tier-2 level. He's a big, athletic netminder who is a proven competitor in his hockey career."

Bio: Played with the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League from 2013-14 to 2016-17 … Appeared in a total of 192 games with the Canadians, accumulating 135 career points from 47 goals and 88 assists … Notched a career-best 64 points from 24 goals and 40 assists in 61 games played as the team's captain … His 64 points in 2016-17 rated second and his 40 assists paced the team … Helped Carleton Place to a CCHL Championship all four years with the squad … Played in a total of 30 CCHL playoff contests with 25 points from 10 goals and 15 assists ... Also played with the Perth Blue Wings of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2013-14 for 11 contests.

Bio: Played with the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League from 2013-14 to 2016-17 … Named a 2016-17 CCHL Second All-Star Team honoree … Registered a career-best 66 points on 29 goals and 37 assists in the 2016-17 campaign in 61 games as the alternate captain … In his career with the Canadians, totaled 177 appearances, 62 goals and 78 assists … Helped Carleton Place to CCHL Championships in 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17 ... Played the majority of the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons with the Westport Rideaus of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he notched 74 appearances, 54 goals, and 53 assists … Also played with Smiths Falls Bears of the CCHL for six games split between 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Corbett on Rotenberger: "Rotenberger will join senior Josh Kestner as the second Huntsville native on the roster this season after playing the majority of his junior career in the South. He is a mature player and we anticipate his defense-first mindset and responsible play to help us from the blue line."
 
Mark Sinclair

Bio: Played the 2016-17 season with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League, where he posted a 2.59 goals against average and a .910 save percentage … Spent the 2014-15 and 2015-16 campaigns with the Caledonia Corvairs of the Greater Ontraio Junior Hockey League, helping the team to GOJHL Championships both season … Had a 1.78 GAA and .924 save percentage in 40 games in 2015-16 with Caledonia in addition to a 1.17 GAA and .939 save percentage over 12 contests in 2014-15 … Spent the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons with the Hamilton Redwings of the Ontario Junior Hockey League with 59 career appearances.
