TWO MORE AT HOME: The UAH women's basketball team will continue its three-game homestand this week, hosting Valdosta State at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday before turning around to welcome West Florida for a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday. The Chargers enter the weekend at 11-7 overall and 5-6 in GSC play.

LAST TIME OUT: The Chargers picked up a signature win last Saturday, knocking off visiting rival No. 20 North Alabama 87-81 in overtime. Two UAH players logged double-doubles in the victory as Katie Speegle went for 26 points and 11 rebounds while Chandler Elder scored 14 and snagged 11 boards.

AROUND THE GSC: UAH is presently tied for eighth in the GSC with its 5-6 league record, but the standings are tightly bunched with the Chargers just two games out of a tie for fourth. At the top of the league is undefeated Union at 11-0, while both UNA and Lee are in second at 9-2. This weekend's opponents VSU and UWF are tied for fourth with 7-4 marks, while both West Georgia and Christian Brothers sit just ahead of UAH in a tie for sixth at 6-5.

ON THE GLASS: The Chargers are strong on the defensive glass, ranking third in the GSC in defensive rebounding with 30.4 per contest. Individually, UAH features two of the top 10 rebounders on the defensive end, with Elder ranking sixth with 5.7 per game while Aryn Sanders is ninth in the league with 5.5 per outing. Overall, Elder is the ninth-best rebounder in the league as she grabs 7.8 per game.

MUCH IMPROVED: One reason that can be pointed to for UAH's significant improvement from a season ago is the team's assist-to-turnover ratio. A year ago, the Chargers ranked last in the GSC with a 0.53 mark, but this season, UAH has improved to a tie for seventh with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.77. Just two teams in the league have an assist-to-turnover mark of better than one, and the Chargers are within 0.12 of the fourth-best team in the conference.

BLOCK PARTY: Speegle presently ranks seventh in the GSC in blocks with 1.0 per game as she has totaled six in the team's past four games, and that makes her the first Charger to be in the top 10 in the conference in blocks since the 2013-14 season when Juanice Newton finished the year sixth with 0.7 on the season.

ABOUT VALDOSTA STATE: The Lady Blazers visit the Rocket City at 13-6 (7-4 GSC) on the season, but the team is 10-0 at home compared to just 2-6 in road games with just one victory away from Valdosta in conference road contests. Madi Mitchell is pacing VSU with 18.3 points per contest, while Kenya Samone' Dixon is nearly averaging a double-double with 11.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Valdosta State leads the all-time series by a 36-14 clip after sweeping the season series last year. In Huntsville, the Lady Blazers were 64-48 winners.

ABOUT WEST FLORIDA: The Argos are 12-6 (7-4 GSC) heading into its road swing through Alabama as they take on North Alabama on Thursday night. With 14.9 points per game, Halee Nieman leads the team offensively, while Courtney Meyer is strong on the glass, grabbing 11.0 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY: UWF owns a slim 29-26 advantage all-time against UAH after taking both meetings between the two programs a year ago including a 67-54 victory in the Rocket City.
