DOWN THE STRETCH: The UAH men's lacrosse team will play its penultimate game of the regular season on Friday night, taking on Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Shorter in Rome, Georgia, at 6 p.m. CDT. The Chargers enter the contest at 7-5 (2-1 GLVC).
LAST TIME OUT: The Chargers picked up their first-ever GLVC road win last week, overwhelming Montevallo in the second half to secure a 13-6 victory, and the win provided UAH with its most wins in a season to date at seven, continuing the steady year-over-year improvement in the program's three-season history.
AROUND THE GLVC: Young Harris continues to sit on top of the league standings at 3-0, while Indianapolis is done with its conference slate and is currently second at 4-1. The Chargers are in third, comfortably ahead of fourth-place Maryville who also is finished with its league schedule at 2-3. Montevallo and Shorter have yet to win a league game and are both 0-3.
LIMITING TURNOVERS: On the year, the Chargers have committed the second-fewest amount of turnovers in the conference with just 195 on the season. UAH has fewer than 15 giveaways in six games including a season-low 10 against Newberry on Feb. 11.
LEADING LEVETTE: Reigning GLVC Player of the Week
Luke LeVette is presently leading the league with 3.22 goals per game while also ranking first in the conference with his 3.67 points per contest. Additionally, his eight points against Montevallo which matched his own program record for points in game also matches the GLVC high for this season.
MAN-UP SUCCESS: The Chargers have done a solid job of taking advantage of their opportunities with the man-advantage, ranking second in the GLVC with 1.42 goals per game in those situations while also scoring on 32.1 percent of their chances with the extra man which also ranks second in the conference.
ABOUT SHORTER: The Hawks enter Friday's game at 1-11 overall and 0-3 on the year in GLVC action. Chase Rogers leads the Hawks offensively as he has team-bests in both goals and assists with 14 and nine, respectively, to total a team-high 23 points.
SERIES HISTORY: The series is now level at 1-1 after the Chargers evened it with a big 23-4 win at Charger Park on the last day of the season a year ago. LeVette scored seven times in that game and also added an assist.
