UAH Closes Out Regular Season with Setback to West Alabama

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's tennis team fell at Athletic Club Alabama on Saturday to No. 35 West Alabama, dropping a 6-3 decision on the regular season's final day. The Chargers slip to 6-13 (4-7 GSC), while UWA improves 15-4 (9-3 GSC).
 
UAH will now turn its focus to the postseason as the Chargers will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming Gulf South Conference Women's Tennis Championships, taking on top-seeded West Florida.
 
That match is slated for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in Montgomery.

Noteworthy
-Stearman picks up her eighth win of the season in singles play, and it was her most dominant victory since Feb. 24 when she won 6-0, 6-0 at West Georgia.
-Lopez moves to a strong 6-4 in singles play in conference matches.
-Mehlich and Stearman played in doubles together for the first time since March 27, and the duo finishes the regular season with six wins including five in conference play.
