HUNTSVILLE | The 2019 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors Association, were released this week, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by
Isabelle Barnes as a CoSIDA Academic All-District performer.
Â
This is the second time in Barnes career she's been recognized as CoSIDA Academic All-District, after receiving the honor in the 2018 season as well.
Â
Barnes has been one of the Chargers most successful players on both sides of the ball this season, as she ranks second on the squad with a career-high 312 kills while boasting a team-best 133 total blocks.
Â
The Madison native's 133 total blocks lead the Gulf South Conference, and her team-best .313 hitting percentage rates fifth in the league entering the final weekend of play.
Â
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, as First and Second-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
Â
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
