BLOOMINGTON, Minn. | The Western Collegiate Hockey Association released its awards for the month of January, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team was represented by Hans Gorowsky as WCHA Forward of the Month and Kurt Gosselin as WCHA Defenseman of the Month.

This is the first career monthly honor for both Gorowsky and Gosselin, and UAH has now earned three WCHA Players of the Month as Brennan Saulnier earned the program's first-ever honor in October of 2015.

A Lino Lakes, Minnesota, native, Gorowsky led all WCHA forwards and tied for the league lead with 10 points on a league high seven goals in addition to three assists in the month of January. Gorowsky is now tied for the team lead in points with 13 on eight goals and five assists.

Gosselin led the WCHA with seven assists and paced all league blue liners with 10 points with an additional three goals in the month of January. Gosselin – who returned to the team from injury at the start of the New Year – is tied for the team lead in points with four goals and nine assists for 13 points in just 17 appearances this season.
