HUNTSVILLE | The 2018-19 co-captains of The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey program have signed Amateur Try-Out contracts with ECHL teams following the 2018-19 season, as
Hans Gorowsky signed with the Adirondack Thunder and
Kurt Gosselin joined the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Gosselin was additionally signed for the 2019-20 season by the American Hockey League's Rochester Americans – the AHL affiliate of Cincinnati – to a one-year, two-way contract. Rochester is the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres.

The UAH hockey program now has a total of five former players in the ECHL ranks, as Gorowsky and Gosselin join
Josh Kestner (Newfoundland Growlers),
Tyler Poulsen (Rapid City Rush) and Matt Salhany (Adirondack Thuner) in the league.

A native of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, Gorowsky led the Chargers offense in the 2018-19 season with a career-best 19 points on a team-high 12 goals in addition to seven assists. Gorowsky – who was the WCHA Forward of the Month in January – dominated in the 2019 calendar year, posting 16 points on 11 goals and five assists to help UAH to its third WCHA playoff berth in program history.

Mike Corbett said. "He has truly worked to earn this opportunity. His hard work and commitment are inspiring and doors will open for players like him."

The first-ever All-WCHA honoree for UAH, Gosselin ends his career in the Blue & White ranked third in the program's modern Division I history amongst defensemen with 58 career points on 20 goals and 38 assists over four years as a Charger. This season, Gosselin rated second on the roster and first amongst UAH blue liners with 15 points from four goals and 11 assists.

UAH ended the season with an 8-28-2 overall record and 8-18-2 within the WCHA, as the Chargers earned a trip to the WCHA playoffs in consecutive seasons.
