Federovitch, Pachinger and Gerber Sweep GSC Weekly Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference unveiled its final 2019 women's lacrosse weekly awards, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Nicole Federovitch as GSC Offensive Player of the Week, Natalie Pachinger as GSC Defensive Player of the Week and Katie Gerber as GSC Freshman of the Week.
 
Both Federovitch and Pachinger have earned GSC weekly honors six times in the 2019 campaign, while Gerber has earned GSC Freshman of the Week on nine occasions this season.
 
Federovitch – a 10-time GSC Offensive Player of the Week honoree in her career – led the Chargers offense in GSC wins over Montevallo and Shorter this past week with a team-high 17 points on eight goals and nine assists. She additionally rated second on the roster with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
 
Pachinger accumulated a team-high eight caused turnovers and 10 ground balls in addition to rating third on the squad with seven draw controls on the way to her 14th career weekly GSC honor. The senior also posted five points on three goals and two assists.
 
A native of Louisville, Gerber paced all UAH freshmen with six points on three goals and three assists while tying for the team lead in draw controls with 10. Gerber had a week-high four points on two goals and two assists in Wednesday's 21-3 rout of Montevallo.
 
UAH looks ahead to the first round of the 2019 Gulf South Conference Women's Lacrosse Championships as the second seed against third-seeded Montevallo on Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
