Groves-Scott Garners Second Career CoSIDA Academic All-America Honor

AUSTIN, Texas | The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division II Men's and Track/Cross Country teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), were released on Wednesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Brydon Groves-Scott as a First Team selection.
 
This is Groves-Scott's second career CoSIDA Academic All-America honor and he is one of 14 repeat award winners in 2018-19, as he wraps up his four-year career at UAH with a 4.0 cumulative GPA as an education major.
 
Groves-Scott – who earned his first CoSIDA Academic All-America honor in 2017-18 – wrapped up his time as a Charger with his third career All-South Region performance with a top 20 finish at the regional this past fall.
 
The senior is ranked third all-time in an 8k with a career-fastest time of 24:47 set at the 2018 Royals Challenge, while also owning the fifth-fastest 8k in program history at 24:56.
 
The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division II Academic All-America teams program.
