HUNTSVILLE | The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association unveiled its All-South Region honorees, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team was represented by
Kendall Scharbert as a First Team All-South Region honoree.

This is Scharbert's first career all-region award after being honored as an All-Gulf South Conference performer this season and 2019.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Scharbert has been a significant presence for the Chargers in the 2021 campaign as she leads the team and ranks sixth in the GSC with .318 hitting percentage on 254 kills while rating fifth in the conference with 103 total blocks.

In her career, Scharbert boasts a .292 hitting percentage to rank fourth in program history as she also rates fourth in the team's history with 1.0 blocks per set for 261 total blocks.

Scharbert and the rest of the Chargers look ahead to the start of the 2021 NCAA South Region Championships as the sixth seed on Thursday at noon against third-seeded Nova Southeastern. The 2021 NCAA South Regional will be held on the campus of No. 1 seed West Florida this Thursday through Saturday.
